On the weekend of 27th and 28th of April, the East Anglian Game and Country show was held at the Norfolk showground in Norwich. TweedVixen were delighted to exhibit at the event in the craft & lifestyle marquee organised by Oakleigh Fairs.
Our stand may have been small but much was packed in to our space and we were very pleased by the reaction to our range.
We were also delighted to have some unexpected visitors to the stand. Who knew they were tweed lovers!
It was also really great to meet the other fabulous stall holders within the Oakleigh Fairs Marquee.

Getting into the festive spirit can be as simple as slipping on some woolly boots and a pullover. However, if you really want to embrace all that is warm, fuzzy and festive about Christmas, there are plenty of other things you can try out.
Route through the wardrobe – you need a starting point!
First things first, you’re going to need to have a rummage through your wardrobe to see what delights of Christmas past you might have stowed away there.
If you’re extremely fussy about seasonal fashion – even though one would assume changes little at Christmas time – then you might find yourself chucking a mass of designer labels out from last year.
However, if you’re not so fussy about Christmas catwalk fashion, you can’t go wrong but embrace all those clichéd Christmas essentials: boots, mittens, woolly hats, scarves, jumpers and tights. If you find that you’re lacking in this department from last year’s haul, or you just fancy a change, then definitely get yourself down to the shops.
What to buy from the store
If you’re brave enough, then why not completely throw yourself into the spirit of the season at Christmas time? Think big woolly jumpers with grossly over-sided motifs on them of reindeer, snowflakes, Santa and the like. If you’re going to do it, you might as well do it big!
Don’t forget that this Christmas overload can apply to the ear muffs you choose to wear, gloves and snoods too. In many stores you can get items which have a great symmetry with one another, whether that be in an overarching theme (snowflakes, let’s say) or in colour.
Speaking of colours, you should attempt to fly the festive colours where possible. These are your greens, reds, golds, and silver. Variations on these colour themes should be able to give you a coordinated palette; stopping you resembling a Christmas cracker! Creams and chocolate browns are also popular at this time of the year – plus, they’re subtle enough to let you get away with wearing at least one avant-garde, kitsch Christmas showpiece to get everyone’s attention (without overdoing it).
Accessorising
When accessorising, think of all those Christmas treats you might be able to incorporate into your dress. Christmas candy canes, baubles, tinsel frills and bells all perfectly sum up the spirit of Christmas. They can manifest themselves as rings, necklaces, bracelets and clip on earrings – if you look in the right places.
You can even accessorise your own outfits by adding these delicate little touches. That little black dress you’ve been wearing all year can quite easily become something very on-point if you throw in a little tinsel frill around the hem, or neck, for example.
Make-up
With your make-up, go the same way as you will with your choice of colours for your clothing. Turn to autumnal hues such as cappuccinos, mellow yellows, gold, greens and reds. If you need inspiration for some styles, then don’t be afraid to look up the odd example of a sassy elf or Mrs Santa Claus online.
With any luck, you’ll feel like you’re a part of the Christmas spirit right away!

I absolutely love feathers! My pinterest features them in abundance and they feature heavily in the jewellery section of my boutique. I was delighted when these arrived at TweedVixen HQ yesterday!
Each piece is lovingly hand-made in Britain using the pretty feathers of Guinea foul. Now available at www.tweedvixen.co.uk
This stunning range of Jewellery is made with real leaves. Each leaf is hand-picked and checked for imperfections, once chosen the leaf is fitted with an electrical contact point and hand painted with a copper solution. When it has dried the leaf is placed in an electrolytic solution that has microscopic particle of 24K gold (nickel free). The electrical contact attracts the gold particles causing a metal build up on the leaf. This clever process preserves all the delicate and intricate details. The pendants are surprisingly sturdy considering how delicate they look. Each leaf is a unique piece of art.

I have a huge love for nature inspired jewellery. Few do it better than Ridley & Dowse aka Vivienne Ridley and Susannah Dowse. The creative duo combines forces to make beautiful pieces that are also ethical.
“We are designers committed to producing beautiful things at as little cost to human rights and the environment as possible. We believe that the beauty in an object comes in part from how it is made and by whom.
With this in mind we will never send our designs to a faceless factory in a far flung place where we can’t be sure someone isn’t being exploited for our benefit. We will use local businesses with people we know are fairly paid for their work. We won’t be racking up thousands of air miles to get our products to you.
We also try and make our products in the most efficient way we can find to minimise waste, and will source the most responsible materials we can.
If we have a product idea and can’t find a way of realising it in a responsible way, we just won’t make it.” Ridley & Dowse.
They were an obvious choice when I chose to open the TweedVixen Boutique and I was delighted when they agreed to be a part of the tweedvixen project.
For a limited time only all Ridley & Dowse Jewellery in the Boutique is on offer. Please visit www.tweedvixen.co.uk and grab yourself a beautiful ethical bargain!
