British Style Genius

24 Mar

The BBC British style genius was a great showcase for British talent, tailoring and design.  Read all about it and watch episodes on the BBC website.  I have put up a few of my favourite clips.

This year from 17th September – 3rd October it will be the 10th annual British Food Fortnight.  I love to promote great British products and food is no exception.  The celebration of British food during the fortnight is extensive and delicious, if you get involved!.

“The event will celebrate the diverse and delicious range of food that Britain produces with promotions and tastings in shops, all-British menus in pubs and restaurants, food and cookery lessons in schools and glorious food festivals. Whether you are shopping in supermarkets or local shops, eating in pubs or restaurants or looking for fun activities to do at the weekend, you will be able to enjoy the best of British food during the Fortnight.

As well as being the event’s landmark tenth year, the 2011 running of British Food Fortnight fires the starting gun on the event’s plans for 2012 when it will take place at the same time as the London Olympics. Let’s show off the best of British food when the eyes of the world are on us! Use British Food Fortnight 2011 as your warm up for the biggest promotion of British food ever during the Olympics!” quoted from Love British Food.co.uk

Go to BritishFoodFortnight’s channel on youtube to watch some great videos and keep up to date with what will be happening.  If you want to get involved go to http://www.LoveBritishFood.co.uk or find them in my blog roll.

Dont just take my word for it let the hairy bikers and the duchess of Cornwall tell you how important it is to say British is Best!

If you want to buy British food but find that the supermarkets make it impossible you are not alone!  There is an impartial website http://www.wanttobuybritish.co.uk (you can go through my blogroll) you can find your local butchers, greengrocers, farm shops, delicatessens and farmers markets but if you find them too pricey ( who doesn’t at the end of the month!) you can also find out which British products are being stocked by your local supermarket. Fantastic!
